About the Artist
Eve Kenyon’s work has been displayed in a variety of museums, colleges, galleries, juried shows and other public places. Her work is part of private, academic and corporate collections. Eve has won many prizes, painted permanent murals and produced an award-winning billboard design. Her pastel Sauvie Island was selected for inclusion in the Vision of Portland presented by American Express, a project to benefit Young Audiences. The Rookie, a colored pencil piece, was a winning entry in the General Artists category of the national Strathmore Artists Paper Illustration Contest. Most recently, Eve’s pastel Warming won an award at Portland’s First Presbyterian Church Works of Faith juried show; and she received the Women Painters of Washington Award for Violet Light at the Northwest Pastel Society 22nd International Open Exhibition in Tacoma.
An art educator for more than 25 years, Eve provides one-to-one instruction in her studio and leads workshops in the Pacific Northwest. She founded and directed The Art Dept. (individual instruction) and offered KidsArt (group lessons for pre-school through middle school) in the Keene, New Hampshire area. Eve developed and then instructed the first art program in a rural elementary school for ten-years and was a visiting / resident artist in southwestern New Hampshire.
Eve Kenyon holds a BFA from Syracuse University with Advanced Study at The Art Students League of New York. She studied privately with Friedel Dzubas, Robert Gwathmey and Judith Rothschild. Eve is a member of the Northwest Pastel Society. She served as Adviser and Critique Coordinator for the Portland District Chapter of the Colored Pencil Society of America, which covers Oregon and southern Washington, and was chapter President 2002–04.
